BASQUASH (Thomas Romain + Kawamori + Satelight)
I actually have a question to ask Thomas Romain, since this was brought up over at AnimeonDVD's IRC channel. Hopefully asking this in english is alright.
Regarding the Nike branding, there is some concern that this could potentially cause issues in overseas territories. To quote my friend (since I could not think of a better way to ask this): "Is the Nike arrangement exclusive to Japan, or are there already plans to bring the series overseas? Will the Nike branding remain in overseas versions of the animation?"
I just felt as if I should bring this up here, since this has been a concern in the past with other series (one example being Code Geass and the Pizza Hut logo, which was removed from the foreign releases). If you can't answer the questions, it's fine. ^^''

change Getta One, switch on !!!

About the Nike thing. Yes we intend to bring the series overseas, like you said, but we are not dealing with "western" partners yet. We are planning to think about it during a big "kaigai tenkai" meeting (foreign development), with all the japanese investors. The fact that the Nike symbol is shown on the shoes the robots wear could be a problem, you're right, but it would be quite impossible to remove it, unless the foreign sponsor give us the budget to re-render and re-composite all the CG cuts! But I think (I hope) it will be ok because we'll not actually say the word "Nike". Also, Basquash will probably not air on kid oriented channels because of some (soft) adults cuts (nudity, use of alcohol...) Maybe the kind of channel which could broadcast Basquash won't be so strict about the branding issue?
