Et je n'oublierai jamais ma découverte de "Jumping" en 1998 à la télé dans le fameux Thema spécial manga/anime d'Arte (même si des années après j'ai appris que la chaîne avait un peu charcuté les documentaires présentés, notamment celui du regretté Bruno Edera).

Une série live japonaise de 2014 basée sur le manga autobiographique de Kazuhiko Shimamoto qui raconte sa jeunesse étudiante aux côtés de Hideaki Anno, Hiroyuki Yamaga & Takami Akai (futurs fondateurs de Gainax).
Un show avec une tonne de références otaku/otaking, dont j'avais déjà parsemé à l'époque internet d'extraits ici et là, et dont revoici deux extraits : la séquence d'un épisode rendant hommage au court (déjà hommage ;-) Return of Ultraman, et une autre séquence avec Anno qui crane devant ses camarades avec un flipbook qu'il a dessiné (pour de vrai).
Et en bonus également, un nouvel extrait HD de Return of Ultraman.

Le premier titre annoncé - en Blu-Ray donc (pour mars 2023) - n'est autre que Dallos, le tout premier anime sorti en 1983 sous le format OVA (direct to video), et réalisé par un ptit jeune nommé Mamoru Oshii ;-] (NDLR : cette oeuvre sera un échec commercial).
Pour les prochaines annonces il faudra surveiller le site spécial de ce 40e anniversaire, et j'ai de grosses attentes (cf ci-dessous ;-).

Un court métrage de 2min30 que quasiment personne n'a jamais vu (y compris moi), car il avait été produit pour des projections cinéma stéréoscopiques uniquement (ce que le studio m'avait confirmé il y a plus de 10 ans quand j'avais fait une demande pour le diffuser dans mon émission TV Catsuka).
De plus Lucent Pictures, la société productrice principale de ce petit film, n'existe plus depuis des années.
Reste donc uniquement ces quelques petites images disponibles à l'époque sur leur site (qui a aussi fermé).
En espérant que le Studio 4°C proposera un jour ce film de manière accessible et donc en version non stéréoscopique (peut-être sur leur channel Youtube ? ;-).

De plus, si la série est bien disponible comme prévu sur Disney+ en France et dans d'autres pays, aux USA ils ont finalement décidé au dernier moment de la balancer sur Hulu (elle n'est donc pas dispo là-bas sur Disney+, contrairement à ce qui avait été annoncé au départ).
L'occasion de faire une petite vidéo évoquant ce mouvement pour le moins mauvais.

Il s'agit d'une sorte de documentaire hybride de 85min mélangeant séquences de fiction et interviews, le tout produit en 2019 dans le cadre de la promo de leur film Children of the Sea (Les Enfants de la Mer, dont le manga vient d'ailleurs d'être réédité en France avec une étrange couverture également).
