Après des mois de "rumeurs", le long métrage de Zelda a été annoncé, mais pas en animation, ce sera du live action.
Le développement d'un film "The Legend of Zelda" vient en effet d'être communiqué officiellement par Nintendo, qui finance le film avec Sony, en confiant les commandes au réalisateur Wes Ball (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Maze Runner), et avec Shigeru Miyamoto & Avi Arad en producteurs.
Pour rappel il ne s'agit pas du premier projet de long inspiré de la saga vidéo ludique, puisque le studio Imagi avait déjà tenté l'aventure (en 3D) il y a plus de 15 ans.

Une information peu relayée hors de ses frontières, mais qui mérite largement une mention : le long métrage d'animation The Peasants (Chlopi) cartonne sans son pays natal, en Pologne.
En moins d'un mois, plus d'1 millions de spectateurs sont déjà allés voir le film en salles (dans un pays qui compte 38 millions d'habitants).
Ce film en rotoscopie / peinture animée est réalisé par D.K. Welchman et Hugh Welchman via BreakThru Films (Loving Vincent), et il est actuellement dans la course pour les prochains Oscars.

Voici une nouvelle bande annonce pour The Storm (大雨), futur long métrage d'animation chinois que je vous avais fait découvrir en mars dernier.
Réalisé par Busifan, un artiste indé peu connu hors de Chine, et déjà responsable du film "Dahufa" (The Guardian) que j'avais pu découvrir il y a 5 ans au festival Fantasia (Canada).
La date de sortie est désormais calée (en Chine), pour le 12 janvier 2024.
Synopsis :
When poverty-stricken Daguzi encounters a child – Mantou – floating downstream at theriverbank, he decides to take him by his side as his son, with compassion and affection. Tochange their distressed situation and give Mantou a better future, Daguzi takes a risk butends up becoming a wanted criminal when his plan fails. It leads him to a homeless lifehiding around with Mantou. As their life gets harder, he considers entrusting Mantou tosomeone else. Mantou has noticed his thought deep inside. Daguzi takes Mantou to theGreat Dragon Bay, hoping to find the treasures from the mysterious black ship and tochange their desperate situation. However, he is bitten by the monster on the black shipand starts to transform into a monster slowly. Anxious Mantou has to run around and try hisbest to save his monster father. Meanwhile, because of the arrival of the black ship, all sortsof people begin to gather in the Great Dragon Bay. The history of the Bay along with storiesof the crowds gradually unfold.

Nouvelle bande annonce pour The Imaginary, le nouveau long métrage produit par le Studio Ponoc (Mary and the Witch's Flower, Modest Heroes), fondé par d'anciens de Ghibli.
Réalisé par Yoshiyuki Momose, ce film est basé sur le livre d'A.F. Harrold et Emily Gravett, et sa sortie est toujours prévue au Japon le 15 décembre prochain.

Hasard du calendrier personnel, pile 1 mois après que j'ai eu la chance de voir le film The Boy and the Heron (Le Garçon et le Héron) en projection presse, un clip officiel de 2 minutes vient d'être publié.
Cette vidéo a été produite pour la promotion en Corée du Sud du film d'Hayao Miyazaki et du Studio Ghibli, et a été mise en ligne au Japon sur le compte Youtube du chanteur Kenshi Yonezu (qui signe "Spinning Globe", la chanson titre du film).

Suite à ma news en mai dernier sur la ressortie du film Les Maîtres du Temps de René Laloux (1982) le 1er novembre 2023 au cinéma en France, et voyant l'information disparaître peu à peu du site du distributeur Tamasa, j'ai contacté ces derniers qui m'ont indiqué que cette ressortie avait été décalée à 2024 (et j'en profite d'ailleurs pour vous glisser que des ressorties ciné de La Planète Sauvage et Gandahar sont également prévues).
En attendant, vous pouvez admirer de superbes screenshots HD de la remasterisation du film sur le même site du distributeur.

Bonne nouvelle, le réalisateur indé japonais Kenji Iwaisawa (On-gaku) a annoncé lors du festival TIFF (Tokyo) travailler actuellement sur un autre nouveau long métrage d'animation, qui sortira avant Hina is Beautiful, son autre nouveau projet annoncé il y a quelques mois (et qui est attendu pour 2026).

Le studio Laika (Coraline, Paranorman, Kubo...) annonce développer de nouveaux projets de films d'animation en collaboration avec des artistes avec qui ils n'avaient jusque là pas l'habitude de travailler, et ils mettent en avant 3 noms : Pete Candeland, Victor Maldonado et Alfredo Torres.
Le nom de Candeland ramenant à certains bons souvenirs comme ses vieux clips de Gorillaz et autres boulots de commande.
Et c'est surtout les noms de Victor & Alfredo qui m'emplissent de nostalgie, puisque les plus anciens se souviendront que ces 2 artistes espagnols furent les co-fondateurs (avec Adrian Garcia) il y a une quinzaine d'années du studio Headless Productions, où ils produisirent à l'époque de nombreux pilotes pour de beaux projets (qui n'ont malheureusement jamais vu le jour). Sachant que Victor & Alfredo avaient auparavant travaillé sur Nocturna, et que depuis Headless ils ont également collaboré sur Trollhunters, Love Death + Robots...

Bonne nouvelle, le projet de film français "Le Corset" (Fallen) de Louis Clichy vient de recevoir une aide importante, et assez rare pour les long métrages d'animation : l'avance sur recettes du CNC.
Encore bravo à eux :-] Sachant que j'avais eu le plaisir d'animer il y a quelques mois une conférence dévoilant les premières images du film.
A noter également que la société de production Eddy recherche actuellement des comédiens "non professionnels" (mais payés au tarif syndical) pour les voix de certains personnages principaux, avec une grosse préférence pour des personnes proches du milieu agricole, voire même de Chartres, d'où est originaire Louis Clichy, et où les enregistrements seront faits début janvier prochain dans une ferme des environs.

Je vous rappelle que sort aujourd'hui dans les salles françaises Linda veut du poulet ! (Chicken for Linda!), long métrage d'animation de Chiara Malta (venue du live) & Sébastien Laudenbach (qui avait réalisé quasi seul le film d'animation La Jeune Fille Sans Mains).
Ce film est une comédie généreusement effrénée et vivante, qui ne prends pas les enfants pour des jambons, je le recommande donc à toutes les familles et à tout le monde en fait (il avait en outre remporté le grand prix au dernier Festival d'Annecy).
Le style d'animation et de mise en scène de Laudenbach reste pour moi toujours assez unique, à la fois artisanal, sensible, et très moderne. Une alchimie artistique et populaire.
Sachez également que ce long métrage s'exporte plus que bien, puisqu'il a déjà acheté par plusieurs pays, et sortira prochainement aux USA/Canada (GKIDS), au Japon (Asmik Ace), en Belgique (Le Parc), en Chine (DDDream), en Espagne (La Aventura), en Inde (Pictureworks), en Italie (I Wonder Pictures) et à Taiwan (Proview).
