Et voici la première vraie bande annonce de Shin Kamen Rider, long métrage live réalisé par Hideaki Anno (Evangelion), qui poursuit sa *série des Shin*, après "Shin Godzilla" et "Shin Ultraman".
D'ailleurs la sortie de ce trailer ce vendredi 13 mai 2022 n'a rien d'anodin, puisque aujourd'hui est aussi le jour où sort "Shin Ultraman" au cinéma au Japon.
Sachant que "Shin Kamen Rider" est lui prévu en 2023.

LONG-MÉTRAGES
Il y a quelques semaines j'ai pu voir en avant première le long métrage d'animation The Bad Guys dont je vous avais parlé, et qui est depuis sorti depuis en salles en France.
Ce dernier film de Dreamworks réalisé par le français Pierre Périfel est un très chouette divertissement pour toute la famille, doté d'une mise en scène énergique, avec des influences diffuses autant américaines que japonaises.
Je suis donc d'autant plus stimulé à vous partager une mise en ligne discrète mais précieuse que Pierre a fait sur son Instagram il y a quelques jours : le "proof of concept" du film qu'il avait réalisé en 2018 pour convaincre le studio de faire le film. Une sorte d'animatique de 4 minutes en guise de pilote façon faux trailer, où l'on retrouvait déjà tout le tonus du film, et ses éléments clés.

Director's note :
This is where it all started 3 and a half years ago. I isolated for a couple months to do a proof of concept for "The Bad Guys" project. It ended up being a fake trailer. We had a first draft of the script, but I wanted to see how it could play on the screen, incorporating the heist genre and my own sense of style, animation and design. I storyboarded the whole thing and shipped it all to my dear John Venzon to cut it together. Obviously, we used temp music and scratch actors, but ultimately this got us far enough to get us moving into the real deal. Sometimes a proof of concept can be the key to bring everyone onto the same page. Lesson learned, and clearly some of the most creative couple months I ever had. The final film isn’t too far off (blast that sound!!)

L'actrice Blake Lively va signer son premier long métrage live en tant que réalisatrice, et si j'en parle c'est qu'il s'agit d'une adaptation de Seconds, comics de Bryan Lee O'Malley (Scott Pilgrim), et que le script du film est lui signé d'Edgar Wright (qui avait déjà réalisé le live de Scott Pilgrim).

Il n'y a pas que Joe Hisashi sur Arte ce mois-ci : la chaîne diffusera aussi le documentaire animé "Flee" réalisé par Jonas Poher Rasmussen au studio Sun Creature.
Une diffusion très spéciale puisqu'elle s'inscrit dans une soirée pour les 30 ans d'Arte, le 30 mai (le même jour que l'anniversaire de Catsuka, vive l'art !).

Chaque nouveau trailer du le film live Anime Supremacy! réalisé par Kohei Yoshino et produit par Toei me fait aimer encore davantage ce projet.
Pour rappel ce long métrage live (adapté du roman de Mizuki Tsujimura) raconte l'histoire d'une réalisatrice d'animation japonaise débutante, en concurrence avec un autre réal senior dans le même studio, chacun des deux personnages étant aux commandes d'une série différente.
Et comme c'est Toei qui produit ce film, dans cette dernière bande annonce ils se sont permis de rendre ces personnages nostalgiques de très vieilles productions historiques de Toei Animation (comme le Serpent Blanc ou Horus), et ça, c'est un sacré level meta-nostalgique qui ne peut que me faire vibrer ;-]

Le long métrage d'animation Bubble réalisé par Tetsuro Araki et WIT Studio (Attack on Titan, Kabaneri) est maintenant dispo sur Netflix dans le monde entier, avant même sa sortie au ciné au Japon le 13 mai.
Pour l'occasion un clip est également proposé aujourd'hui avec la chanson titre du film par EVE (feat Uta), et pas moins de 15 langues en sous-titres sur Youtube pour bien comprendre les paroles.

Encore une news (la 47e :-) sur les japonais du Studio Colorido : ils viennent de signer un deal exclusif avec Netflix pour leurs 3 prochains long-métrages, incluant Drifting Home qui sort en septembre sur la plateforme.
Le film suivant sera réalisé par Tomotaka Shibayama, qui avait déjà signé A Whisker Away.

L'animateur vétéran Eric Goldberg a déclaré que Disney allait se remettre à produire des long métrages d'animation 2D, et que le studio avait même relancé une formation interne à l'anim traditionnelle (en tous cas dessinée) dans laquelle l'artiste intervenait.
Coup du marketing dans le cadre de la promo de la série Sketchbook ou réelle volonté de prod de Disney ? L'avenir le dira (en tous cas je suis pas sûr qu'on puisse faire dire n'importe quoi à Mr Goldberg ;-).

Nouvelle bande annonce pour le long métrage d'animation Drifting Home du réalisateur Hiroyasu Ishida & du Studio Colorido (Penguin Highway, A Whisker Away), prévu pour une sortie mondiale sur Netflix le 16 septembre prochain.
L'histoire d'enfants qui se retrouvent dans l'immeuble où ils vivaient autrefois, sur le point d'être démoli.
Sixth-graders Kosuke and Natsume grew up in the same apartment building as childhood friends. L'an dernier j'assistais au festival d'Annecy à une séance Work In Progress prometteuse du long métrage d'animation français Le Petit Nicolas - Qu'est-ce qu'on attend pour être heureux ?, réalisé par Amandine Fredon & Benjamin Massoubre, et bien sûr adapté des livres jeunesses de René Goscinny et Jean-Jacques Sempé (ce projet ayant pour parti pris de mettre en scène aussi ces auteurs légendaires, mais je n'en dis pas plus :-).
Produit par Onyx, ce film sortira le 12 octobre au cinéma via Bac Films, et vient d'être sélectionné en séance spéciale au prochain festival de Cannes.

Encore un nouvelle bande annonce pour Lightyear, le long-métrage d'animation Pixar qui présente les origines de Buzz Lightyear (Buzz l'Éclair) de Toy Story.
J'ai encore envie d'y croire même si chaque nouveau trailer ne me fait plus ressentir la hype que j'avais eu sur le premier teaser (peut-être était-ce juste la magie d'un bon montage, qui n'en dévoile pas trop, et avec une musique de Bowie parfaitement choisie).

Après avoir travaillé en exclu avec Apple pour le long métrage Wolfwalkers, le studio Cartoon Saloon (Song of the Sea, The Secret of Kells) a signé son prochain film avec Netflix cette fois (co-produit avec Mockingbird Productions).
Il s'agira de My Father's Dragon, film d'animation réalisé par Nora Twomey (The Breadwinner), basé sur le livre pour enfants de Ruth Stiles Gannett, et dont voici la première image ci-dessous.
Et les plus attentifs d'entre vous se souviendront qu'il s'agit d'un vieux projet puisque je vous en avais déjà parlé en 2016 à l'époque où il devait être co-réalisé avec Tomm Moore ;-]

Le distributeur UFO m'a fait parvenir en exclusivité la bande annonce de Junk Head, long-métrage indépendant japonais de Takahide Hori dont je vous avais déjà annoncé la sortie ciné française, désormais fixée au 18 mai.
Ce film fait suite à un premier court-métrage que le réalisateur avait déjà signé en 2013. Il a depuis poursuivi le projet seul pour en faire cette version longue de 100 minutes, qui n'a tourné que dans quelques festivals hors Japon.
Une sortie ciné à soutenir, donc.
Synopsis :
L'humanité a créé le Marigan, une vie artificielle comme force de travail pour le développement souterrain. Éveillé à l'ego, le Marigan multiplie les clones et se révolte contre l'humanité. 1600 ans plus tard, l'humanité commence une enquête écologique sur l'évolution du Marigan dans le monde souterrain.
