Content de voir que le studio anglais/londonien Picnic - jusque là surtout spécialisé dans les films de commande - se lance dans dans la série avec des projets originaux, dont 2 que j'ai repéré sur leur site :

En juin dernier, dans mon premier coup d'oeil sur les projets de séries d'animation européennes présentées au festival pro du Cartoon Forum 2024 (qui s'est déroulé cette semaine), je pointais l'existence de "5 Worlds" (8 x 26') développé par Andarta Pictures (France).
Basé sur la BD du même nom des frères Mark & Alexis Siegel, qui participent aussi au projet de série animée, tout comme Xanthe Bouma, Boya Sun et Matt Rockefeller, des dessinateurs et illustrateurs ayant déjà travaillé sur les albums.

Le pilote est désormais visible dans les compilations du festival :
Five Worlds. Three young heroes. One last hope. Gods have disappeared, and wars between the worlds are just a matter of time. Dans son lineup (diffusé aujourd'hui sur Youtube) d'annonces de prochains animes, le studio d'animation japonais Kyoto Animation (aka KyoAni) a dévoilé travailler sur une série adaptée du manga "City" de Keiichi Arawi, auteur de "Nichijou", que le studio avait déjà adapté en animation.
La série est réalisée par Taichi Ishidate, et sera diffusée en 2025.

Nouvelle bande annonce pour la toute aussi nouvelle série animée de "Ranma 1/2", le manga de Rumiko Takahashi qui quelques décennies plus tard se voit donc à nouveau adapté en animation, cette fois par le studio MAPPA et le réalisateur Konosuke Uda.
Sortie le 5 octobre sur Netflix.

Le jeu vidéo Splinter Cell va avoir droit à une série animée nommée "Splinter Cell: Deathwatch", réalisée par Guillaume Dousse & Félicien Colmet-Daage, et fabriquée principalement en France, aux studios Sun Creature & Fost.

Après moults rebondissements et un précédent projet avec d'autres créateurs qui ne sont plus de la partie, les fameuses cartes Magic vont avoir droit à une série animée.
Le projet, sans autre titre que l'originel pour l'instant, à savoir "Magic: The Gathering" donc, aura comme showrunner Terry Matalas (Star Trek : Picard, L'Armée des 12 singes) et comme réalisateur Patrick Osborne (Feast, Paperman, Pearl).
Et le tout est produit par Netflix.

Une nouvelle série animée dans l'univers de Patlabor est annoncée pour 2026, produite par le studio JC Staff.
Baptisé "Patlabor EZY", ce projet n'est en fait pas tout à fait nouveau, puisqu'un pilote avait été produit en 2022, et que la première annonce remonte à 2017.
Niveau staff sont présents de nombreux noms ayant déjà travaillé sur la saga (mais pas forcément aux mêmes postes) : réalisation par Yutaka Izubuchi, chara designs par Masami Yuuki (auteur originel du manga), design des costumes par Akemi Takada, musiques par Kenji Kawai (musique), etc.
Le tout officialisé ce jour qui est aussi le 35 anniversaire de la sortie du premier film (d'Oshii).

Première bande-annonce de la série animée "Virgin Punk", créée et réalisée par Yasuomi Umetsu (A Kite, Mezzo Forte) avec la complicité du studio Shaft.
Une annonce inattendue, Umetsu étant assez peu prolifique en tant que réal depuis 10 ans (et "Wizard Barristers"). Il s'était surtout fait connaître (avec aussi son style graphique particulier) dans les années 90/2000 avec des animes très adultes comme "Kite" (qui ressort d'ailleurs en Blu-ray aux USA ce mois ci) ou "Mezzo Forte".
A noter que si cette production est donc annoncée comme une "série", le 1er épisode, intitulé "Clockwork Girl", est d'abord prévu au cinéma (à l'été 2025). Mais au regard de ce qui se pratique dernièrement au Japon en termes de reformatages et autres exploitations++, il est possible que cela soit une série montée en films mais qui sera aussi proposée et pensée à la base comme des épisodes.

Allez hop, voici la bande annonce finale de la 2ème (et dernière) saison de "Arcane", la fameuse série produite par le studio français Fortiche pour Riot dans l'univers du jeu League of Legends.
La date de sortie n'a pas encore été annoncée (je ne parle évidemment pas du leak déjà consommé cet été, en tous cas pas par moi), Netflix se bornant à parler toujours du mois de Novembre, mais en attendant lors de mes balades internet/internationales quotidiennes, j'ai relevé une autre annonce aujourd'hui en Chine, où la série sortira le 9 Novembre là-bas. A voir si Netflix s'alignera (et oui car je rappelle que Riot = Tencent, donc China first).

Comme vous le savez, je repère souvent un peu avant tout le monde pas mal de projets divers et variés, souvent sur la seule base d'un nom ou autre paramètre qui me stimule, et ce même si ces projets ne voient pas forcément toujours le jour au final évidemment.
Et là je relève donc juste l'existence de "Wild Kat", future série d'animation française potentielle (26x22'), développée par Jérémy Guiter (ancien d'Emile Cohl, déjà vu dans mes colonnes), via la société par Watch Next.
Une série jeunesse, mais d'action, et produite principalement par la chaîne Gulli (pas forcément non plus toujours attendue sur ce type de projet).
La vie d’Idris et Dimitri, deux ados sans histoire, bascule le jour où la famille d’Idris accueille Kat, une Wereling capable de se transformer en fille-chat ! Kat a été envoyée à Paloma par l’Arche, l’organisation qui unit tous les Werelings à travers la planète. Sa mission : arrêter les Werelings malfaisants qui utilisent leur transformation pour nuire aux humains. Ayant découvert le secret de Kat, Idris et Dimitri deviennent ses coéquipiers. Mais le trio va très vite devoir se confronter aux Indomptés, un groupe de Werelings dissidents qui ourdissent un terrible complot contre l’Arche…

Première bande-annonce tout à fait encourageante pour la nouvelle série animée adaptée du manga "Yaiba" (1988) de Gosho Aoyama (Detective Conan), déjà adapté en animation dans les années 90.
Le staff également révélé aujourd'hui est tout aussi stimulant : WIT Studio, et un duo de leads qui avait déjà énormément travaillé sur "Mob Psycho 100" notamment : Takahiro Hasui (réalisateur) & Yoshimichi Kameda (directeur d'animation / character designs).

40 ans après sa parution, le manga "Wingman" de Masakazu Katsura (1983) va avoir droit à une adaptation en série/drama live action au Japon, dont la diffusion est prévue en Octobre sur TV Tokyo.

Raphael Bob-Waksberg, créateur de "Bojack Horseman", annonce travailler sur une nouvelle série animée pour Netflix, initulée "Long Story Short", toujours avec le studio ShadowMachine.

Première bande annonce un peu longue pour Twilight Of The Gods, série d'animation créée par Zack Snyder, animée en France au studio Xilam (J'ai perdu mon corps, Oggy et les cafards), avec Slimane Aniss (Baïdir) à la réalisation.

Même si je ne connais pas du tout la série "Too Many Losing Heroines!", son deuxième générique de fin est fort joli.

Troisième bande annonce pour la série animée Dan Da Dan, réalisée par Fuga Yamashiro au studio Science Saru, d'après le manga de Yukinobu Tatsu.
La date de sortie est désormée calée au 4 octobre au Japon dans la nuit (donc 3 octobre probablement en Occident), en rappelant que la série sera multidiffusée à l'étranger, notamment sur les plateformes SVOD Netflix, Crunchyroll, Hulu, Muse, et ADN, et que les premiers épisodes seront proposés en amont au cinéma lors de sorties limitées aux USA et en Europe notamment.

Pour faire suite à ma news d'hier, voici l'une des 60 autres annonces animées faites en Chine le week-end dernier, et dont personne n'a depuis parlé à l'étranger : "Big Fish and Begonia : The Story of Rong Song", future série animée spin-off du film du même nom (Big Fish and Begonia, aka Da Hai, dont j'avais beaucoup parlé à l'époque).
Le show sera diffusé par Tencent (qui produit une bonne partie des séries animées en Chine).
Le film originel (produit en 2016) étant lui toujours dispo sur Netflix (depuis 2018).
L'équipe originelle est annoncée de retour sur cette nouvelle série, avec B&T Studio pour sûr, et logiquement aussi les réalisateurs Liang Xuan & Zhang Chun (le Studio Mir avait également participé au film, à voir si ils seront encore de la partie).
Ci-dessous un premier teaser, dont la qualité d'animation semble supérieure à celle du film, ce qui pourrait paraître surprenant dans n'importe quel (autre) pays, sauf qu'il s'agit ici d'un donghua, et donc probablement d'une énième démonstration de l'augmentation exponentielle ces dernières années du niveau de qualité des productions animées chinoises (pour la plupart inédites à l'étranger, et produites uniquement pour leur marché local).
