Réalisé/boardé par Megumi Ishitani avec Masami Mori (Soty) à la direction de l'animation, ce duo ayant déjà signé auparavant le clip "Kaze no Yukue" en marge du film One Piece Red.

Il s'agit d'une des plus anciennes et plus longues séries animées japonaises, avec plus de 1500 épisodes à ce jour, adaptés du manga de Momoko Sakura.
En rappellant aussi que de nombreux épisodes sont proposés légalement depuis des années sur Youtube (cf ma rubrique Binge sur le Catsuka Player).
Note : Crunchyroll avait annoncé par erreur la sortie de la série sur leur plateforme le 7 janvier, ils ont depuis effacé leur post sur Twitter.

Ce qui est maintenant chose faite, les premiers épisodes étant sorti, et contenant eux aussi quelques beaux moments sakuga, comme par exemple cette séquence de pas moins de 3 minutes d'action non stop.
Séquence réalisée par Chengxi Huang, qui se fait aussi appeller Seki Ko quand il bosse pour Naruto et bien d'autres animes japonais depuis plus de 10 ans.
Également réal de cet épisode, il s'est fait aider pour cette séquence d'action d'artistes de différents studios chinois (Big Firebird, Tumble et Flint Sugar), ainsi que de Zhou Haosong (aka Hiromatsu Shuu), un autre animateur chinois (dont beaucoup pensent qu'il est japonais). Comme par exemple la série animée The Girl Downstairs par le studio sud-coréen Red Dog Culture House, qui avait déjà sous-traité quelques parties d'animes chinois (et de bien d'autres côté occidental), mais jamais jusque là géré la production d'une série Bilibili.

Produit par Toei, Fuji TV, et Netflix qui en assurera probablement la diffusion mondiale exclusive.
Pas plus d'infos pour l'instant si ce n'est le teaser vidéo (et teaser poster) ci-dessous, et le fait que la série prendra comme point de départ l'arc East Blue.
A noter cependant un petit détail que personne n'avait relevé, et qui a fait réagir quand je l'ai pointé : Netflix précise "utilizing cutting-edge visual technology to reimagine Luffy's adventures". En espérant qu'il s'agisse juste d'un wording pompeux habituel de services marketing/communication, et non d'autre chose (comme l'utilisation de certaines technologies artificiellement intelligentes ;-\).

Même si la série est globalement très solide esthétiquement, et que tout est souvent magistralement dessiné et animé, j'avais juste envie de m'attarder sur cette séquence en précisant les credits des personnes à l'origine de ce plan, à savoir l'école de danse Tatsuro Otake School of Dancing (de Tatsuro Otake donc), et le couple (à la ville comme à la scène) de danseurs Misaki Tsuyuguchi & Satoshi Tateishi.
En effet même si le travail des animateurs est important - cette séquence ayant été animée par Myoun - je laisse ce niveau de lecture/credits limités aux fans de sakuga, heureusement plus nombreux aujourd'hui qu'il y a 20 ans, mais il est également important de dépasser certaines choses.
Une bien belle démonstration donc de travail qui va au delà de la référence vidéo, avec un souci initial de chorégraphie et de faire appel à des professionnels en la matière (qui ne sont pas des animateurs).

Donc, le lead character designer de la série est Kal Athannassov, sachant que l'artiste français Brendan Merien avait fait des premières propositions graphiques qui ont grandement inspiré le résulat final. Quand à la direction artistique elle a été assurée par Elle Michalka.

Il mettra en ligne le 1er épisode pilote le 15 décembre, qui n'est pas une date choisie par hasard, puisque ce jour là marquera la suppression de sa précédente série Final Space sur Netflix, suite à la décision de Warner Bros de retirer définitivement la série de toutes les plateformes vidéos existantes, pour des raisons bassement fiscales.

Si ce générique n'est pas aussi flamboyant que celui de la saison 1 réalisé par l'animateur Hiromatsu Shuu (de son vrai nom est Zhou Haosong), il n'en reste pas moins plaisant à zieuter, et a été réalisé par Xicun Liang.
Et comme pas grand monde ne trouvera et relaiera les credits complets si je ne le fais pas, je les mets ci-dessous.
