Hypergalactic est le nom d'un futur long métrage d'animation 3D japonais, qui au delà de son titre pourrait bien vouloir s'aventurer vers l'infini et au delà du marché japonais, au regard du staff assez métissé, et du public cible familial, laissant penser à une prod visant l'international.

En effet, ce film produit par Toei Animation est réalisé par David N. Weiss (Shrek 2, The Smurfs), et a été co-créé par Naoto Oshima (designer de Sonic the Hedgehog) et Joseph Chou.

Si le studio d'animation rattaché au projet ne semble pour l'instant pas avoir été annoncé, il semble en tous cas que ce projet avait initialement pour titre "The Monkey Prince", chez les studios Sola Entertainment et Tenh Animation Magic.

Perso je ne suis pas plus excité que ça pour l'instant, car les productions japonaises ayant par le passé essayer de viser le marché mondial ont rarement été des chefs d'oeuvre. Une des forces des animes étant qu'ils ne sont généralement pas produits en pensant à l'international.
