"Naledi" est un projet de court métrage d'animation sud-africain, co-produit avec la France, qui vient de démarrer une campagne Kickstarter pour espérer financer sa production.

Le film est écrit et réalisé par Lola Aikins (originaire d'Afrique du Sud, et qui a fait ses études d'animation en France, à l'école LISAA) et animé au studio sud-africain The Hidden Hand Studios (dont je vous avais déjà parlé, et qui m'avait aussi offert une animation pour les 20 ans de Catsuka).

Le projet est co-produit avec les français de Avec ou sans Vous, ainsi que Those Production Girls.

NALEDI is a 10-minute 2D animated short film about a star athlete struggling with debilitating grief. Naledi faces pressure in her first race since her father’s passing, as she is competing at the African Athletics Championships 100m hurdles final. Mid-race, she trips and falls. As a result, she suffers a catastrophic panic attack and her world begins to collapse. Naledi must confront the reality of her father's absence in a gruelling psychological and emotional battle, where she must face her grief head on. She must find the courage to continue with not only just her race but with her life as well.
