Muneyuki Kim, ancien producteur chez Toei, vient de fonder K2 Pictures, une société de production qui souhaite que les bénéfices de ses projets (live action et animation) soient davantage reversés aux investisseurs et aux créateurs, comme à Hollywood, et contrairement au Japon habituellement.
Parmi les "talents" qu'il a déjà dans sa pré-écurie : le studio d'animation MAPPA ou des réalisateurs comme Hirokazu Kore-eda, Takashi Miike, et Shunji Iwai.
