Children of Ether est un nouveau projet métissé commandé par le site (et plateforme VOD) américain Crunchyroll à l'artiste Lesean Thomas (Cannon Busters), ici créateur/réalisateur.

Ce sera a priori une série (format non précisé), avec le studio franco-japonais Yapiko Animation aux commandes de la production, et mal de jolis noms nippons dans le staff comme Hiroshi Shimizu (Michiko & Hatchin, Urbance) au character design, Shingo Natsume (One Punch Man) au storyboard, Yûichi Takahashi (Gatchaman Crowds Insight) à la direction de l'animation, et aussi Mitsuo Iso (Denno Coil) en animateur.

Sans oublier de créditer aussi pas mal de français : Antoine Antin, Cedric Herole, Alexandre Ulmann, Eddie Mehong, Yann Le Gall, Etienne Guignard, Myriam Fourati ... ainsi que l'américain Jamie Vickers. Plus bas le staff complet.

Le pitch : Children of Ether follows Rhonda, a woman with a dark past and a mysterious power, as she is pursued by an unknown assailant after the death of her father. Aided only by her wits and a pair of orphans, Rhonda journeys through a decaying, dystopian metropolis populated by raiders, gangs, and the supernatural. As she struggles to survive in this harsh urban tangle, she meets both friends and enemies, and searches for answers about this power, "The Ether", awakening within her.
