Depuis bientôt 20 ans je partage pour mon amour pour le cinéma d'animation sur Catsuka. Le site a toujours été gratuit, sans aucune publicité, je le gère seul sur mon temps libre.

J'y ai déjà publié plus de 8000 news, avec des sélections de films, des interviews, des focus sur des artistes et studios que j'apprécie.

Et j'ai bien envie de continuer encore longtemps. Alors aujourd'hui, j'ouvre une page Patreon pour ceux qui apprécient ce que je fais et qui souhaitent me soutenir dans cette aventure.

Catsuka a été créé en 1999, à l'origine comme un intranet pour mes camarades à l'université, puis lancé sur internet en 2000. Le site possède des mascottes, créées par Gobi & Fik, qui ont été ré-interprété par de nombreux dessinateurs et animateurs.

Catsuka se compose de plusieurs sites, avec notamment :

- Catsuka.com (site principal)
- Catsuka Player (plusieurs milliers de films visibles en ligne)
- Catsuka Theater (ciné virtuel consacré aux bande annonces)
- Catsukids (sélections de films pour enfants)

J'ai également créé des sites consacrés à l'école des Gobelins, à Koji Morimoto, Oban Star-Racers ou encore à un hommage à Satoshi Kon.

Par le passé, Catsuka a aussi été une émission TV que j'ai réalisé pendant 8 ans sur la chaîne Nolife, ainsi qu'une rubrique du magazine Animeland.

J'ai parfois organisé des projections, des expositions, j'ai participé à des conférences, ainsi qu'à l'élaboration de certains livres ... mais sans jamais me positionner professionnellement dans l'un de ces domaines.

J'aime toucher à tout tant qu'il s'agit de promouvoir avant tout les oeuvres et artistes qui me stimulent.

En mai 2019, Patreon a lancé une version "Lite", permettant de soutenir des personnes sans contreparties.
Si vous appréciez ce que je fais, votre aide sera donc un soutien global pour ce que j'entreprends avec Catsuka, de manière libre et indépendante.

L'argent récolté avec Patreon servira notamment à payer l'hébergement de Catsuka, et aussi à financer des choses que je ne pourrai pas réaliser autrement, comme par exemple des traductions et sous-titrages d'interviews.
Je souhaite produire des contenus spéciaux pour mes "patrons", et tenir au courant des mises à jour et évolutions de Catsuka.

Hello, I'm Marc. I've been sharing my love for animation for the last 20 years on Catsuka. The website is free, with no advertising. I manage it alone, on the side, while having a full-time job.

Catsuka was also a TV show that I directed for 8 years, and a column in french magazine Animeland.

I like to reach out to various audiences, sometimes with exhibitions, screenings in theaters, collaborations on books ... but whithout positioning myself as a professional in these domains.

I created Catsuka first and foremost to share my passions.

In May 2019, Patreon launched a "Lite" plan, whithout tiers.
So if you simply appreciate what I do, your help will be a global support in everything I undertake with Catsuka freely and independently.

The money from Patreon will be used among others to pay Catsuka hosting fees, and to fund projects I couldn't make otherwise, like translating / subtitling interviews for example.
I also want to produce special contents for my "patrons", and keep informed about the updates/developments of Catsuka.
