L'artiste indépendant Volta - jusque là sollicité pour de courtes animations de commandes - signe son premier gros morceau pro avec le clip Starship Velociraptor de Jonathan Young.
Si le dessin et l'anim ne sont pas toujours très solides, l'énergie et les couleurs elles sont bien là (tout comme les influences :-).

Peut-être qu'il s'agit de futurs nouveaux toys (car ils avaient déjà commencé jadis avant de brander le concept), peut-être qu'il s'agit d'un poisson, en tous cas ce crossover de licences continue de suivre son cours (via notamment des tshirts en ce moment chez Uniqlo par ex, y compris en France).

Mais comme souvent avec Disney et les animes, c'est assez laborieux. Ils ne font quasiment pas de com sur les productions japonaises (anim ou live, d'ailleurs) qu'ils achètent et mettent à dispo. Une mauvaise habitude ici agrémentée de deux autres cerises pourries sur le gâteau :
- vous ne trouverez tout simplement pas la série si vous tapez le titre international "Heavenly Delusion" dans le moteur de recherche de Disney+, il faut taper le titre VO : "Tengoku Daimakyo".
- selon les pays, la série n'est pas forcément sur Disney+, mais sur Star+ (si Star n'est pas intégré à Disney+ j'imagine), et aux USA il semble que la firme de la souris ait transféré la série sur Hulu finalement, mais ces derniers ont eu un bug, l'épisode n'est pas encore dispo, retardé à une date encore indéterminée (alors qu'en France on peut voir sur Disney+ la version sous titrée anglais).
Bref...
L'épisode 1 est très prometteur en tous cas, comme je l'avais pressenti.
Ah et j'ai réussi à trouver 1 version officielle du trailer sous-titrée en anglais sur le compte Youtube de Disney+ ... Singapour.

Le talentueux compositeur s'est éteint le 28 mars, son décès n'ayant été annoncé qu'aujourd'hui.
Connu d'abord comme membre du Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO), il a ensuite oeuvré en solo notamment sur de très nombreuses musiques de films, l'un des plus célèbres et singuliers étant Furyo (Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence), où il jouait aussi en tant qu'acteur l'un des rôles principaux, aux côtés de David Bowie.
Il composa également des OST d'animes, d'Honneamise à la récente série Exception.
Il fût atteint en 2021 d'un (deuxième) cancer, qui lui a malheureusement été fatal.

Produite par le studio japonais Science Saru (Devilman Crybaby, Heike Story, Inu-Oh...), la série est réalisée par Abel Gongora (Star Wars: Visions), avec au scénario l'auteur de la BD Bryan Lee O'Malley.
Le projet est produit par Netflix & Universal, et Edgar Wright (réal du film live) est également de la partie en producteur exécutif.
Et donc oui, je voulais pas vous spoiler le teaser évidemment : le cast originel du film live est donc à nouveau réuni pour cette nouvelle adaptation.

Si elle est évidemment inspirée de l'anime mythique d'Hideaki Anno, elle présentera cependant une histoire totalement originale, avec des personnages également totalement nouveaux.

En effet, après des projections dans les récents festivals Sitges (Espagne) et Animation is Film (USA), le film vient d'être acheté par Momo Films pour une distribution au Canada.

Et bien après la première figurine Yum Ziya (dont la fabrication et la finition sont de très haut niveau), ils continuent donc logiquement avec un nouveau personnage, Momo, en précommande à partir de demain, et dotée elle aussi d'un trailer animé en 3D (même si elle est dans l'ombre dedans).
Ce type de bande annonce est toujours aussi peu courant pour un toy, d'autant plus que le premier trailer avait été réalisé par Somei, un des artistes les plus en vue de la scène CG chinoise (souvenez-vous : son hommage à Evangelion ou encore le clip Light Catcher).
J'en profite également pour signaler qu'Underverse a lancé un 2e univers/série de toys, Beautiful Chemistry, cette fois designés par d'autres illustrateur.ice.s : Katsuya Terada, Zeen Chin, Murase Zaimoku et Alonelee 127. La première figurine par Zeen Chin est dispo en préco.
Inutile évidemment de rappeller que ces toys sont produits en quantités ultra limitées. Et pour ceux qui poseraient la question sans prendre le soin de se renseigner avant en quelques clics, Underverse ne fait pas que des figurines de dames (ils font de tout ;-). Par contre des trailers animés, ils n'en produisent que pour la collection "Modern Gals".

Le week-end dernier avait lieu le festival Anime Japan (au Japon), où plein de grosses annonces d'animes mainstream ont été révélées, mais vous pouvez toujours compter sur moi pour pointer celles plus indés moins relayées.
Comme par exemple la diffusion en juillet prochain sur les chaînes nippones TBS et MBS d'une mini série Ikimono-san, réalisée par Atsushi Wada, animateur japonais indépendant peu connu du grand public, mais très connu en festivals.
Produite par New Deer et distribuée par Toei, cette série se composera de 52 épisodes de 90 secondes.
Et si pour l'instant il n'y a pas de trailer (juste un GIF ci-dessous), il se trouve que ces courts sont basés sur un personnage que Wada avait déjà créé pour un jeu mobile d'exercice physique un peu particulier : My Exercise, pour faire des abdos ;-] Produit par Playables (déjà responsable de Kids), ce jeu est dispo sur la plupart des smartphones.
