Suite à ma brève il y a un mois, voici plus d'informations sur la première exposition américaine de l'animateur et character designer Sushio qui se tiendra à la galerie Nucleus (Los Angeles) du 10 au 25 décembre 2022.
Cet événement autour de l'artiste (connu notamment pour son travail sur Kill la Kill, BNA, Promare, Little Witch Academia & autres) se composera donc :
- d'une exposition/vente d'originaux (et même de skate decks ;-) avec vernissage gratuit le 10 décembre au soir en présence de l'artiste (qui sera dispo pour des signatures)
- d'un workshop le 10 décembre après-midi (payant / 120 dollars par personne, en présentiel ou à distance sur Zoom)
- de la vente de produits de la marque de l'artiste Solid Line (tshirts, tote bags ...)
- et d'autres surprises ;-]
Des séances de dédicaces sont aussi prévues, chez Nucleus comme dans d'autres libraires.

650 pages de dessins d'Otomo, layouts, corrections, également des dessins d'animation clé, et de nombreuses reproductions de cellulos & décors sur plusieurs calques.
A noter que l'éditeur a annoncé qu'il ne réimprimerait peut-être pas le livre du fait de la complexité évidente (et donc du coût) de la fabrication.

L'occasion de rappeler que ce merveilleux film est sorti dans plusieurs pays majeurs comme les USA et le Japon, ces derniers ayant même faits du merchandising comme des Nendoroid, mais en France toujours rien, les distributeurs ayant complètement raté le coup par manque visible de flair et de goût (alors même que c'est un français - qui lui a bon goût - qui s'occupe de la vente des droits à l'international ;-).

Ce film était même sorti dans les années 80 en France (VHS) sous le titre "Les Vengeurs de l'Espace", et projeté en 1982 au festival d'Angoulême, en présence d'Osamu Tezuka. 20 ans après, Wild Side l'avait également sorti en DVD sous le titre "Phénix, l'oiseau de feu".

Un nouvel anime basé sur le manga Phoenix d'Osamu Tezuka, animé par le légendaire Studio 4°C, et produit par Disney.
Pas plus d'infos sur le staff, mais déjà un premier trailer.
Sortie prévue en 2023 sur Disney+.

Mais une illustration en particulier, signée pour les personnages par Takeshi Honda (character designer & directeur de l'animation du prochain film d'Hayao Miyazaki), s'inscrit en fait dans une série de plusieurs dessins réalisés en collaboration (promotionnelle) avec Toyota Home (filiale immobilière de Toyota).
Le Studio Ghibli a commencé à publier ces images sur ses réseaux, mais je vous propose de voir d'ores et déjà l'ensemble de ces illustrations ;-]

La vidéo, postée ce soir, a notamment été supprimée moins d'une heure après sa mise en ligne par le propre compte Twitter officiel du film, très étrange.
Entre temps, les gens avaient en tous cas déjà bien commencé à dégommer ce trailer.
