Selon le très sérieux média Variety, le premier long métrage d'animation de Bong Joon Ho (dont je vous parle depuis 2021) serait un film d'animation dessiné à la main ("hand-drawn", je cite), donc en 2D.
Ce qui contredit les annonces précédentes, qui parlaient d'un film 3D.
Peut-être est-ce une boulette (rare) de Variety, en tous cas c'est pour moi l'occasion encore d'accompagner une information d'une nouvelle image de Bong bien choisie par mes soins, à savoir un autoportait de Bong ;-]

Mathieu Kassovitz, qui n'a pas réalisé de film depuis 13 ans, souhaite se remettre en selle avec un film nommé "The Big War", adaptant la BD "La Bête est morte !" (publiée en 1944) du dessinateur Calvo et des scénaristes Victor Dancette et Jacques Zimmermann.
Un projet de long métrage hybride live/animation, co-écrit avec Caroline Thompson (Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward aux mains d'argent, The Addams Family), et co-produit par Aton Soumache, bien connu du milieu de l'anim (Renaissance, Mune, Le Petit Prince...).
Et un projet que Kassovitz a apparemment en tête depuis 20 ans (NDLR : exactement comme pour le projet de David Lynch dont je vous parlais hier et avec la même co-scénariste).

Le sachiez-vous ? Cela fait 20 ans que David Lynch cherche à produire un film d'animation nommé "Snootworld".
Et ce projet, co-écrit avec Caroline Thompson (Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward aux mains d'argent, The Addams Family), a encore été refusé récemment par Netflix.
Le réalisateur cherche donc encore et toujours un nouveau partenaire de financement/diffusion.

Voici le pilote du film d'animation japonais nommé "KillTube", réalisé par Kazuaki Kuribayashi dans un univers *Edo Punk*, et via sa société Chocolate.
Ce projet se veut (officiellement dans sa com') très "expérimental", souhaitant inventer de nouvelles méthodes - et "108" expériences (qui seront documentées au fur et à mesure) - pour mener à bien cette réalisation, en s'associant notamment au collectif d'artistes Wachajack, au studio VFX Kassen, et au studio Dotou.
Le pilote laissant déjà présager un gros mix de styles et techniques.
Sortie prévue en 2026.

Direction artistique intéressante au regard de cette bande annonce pour "A Few Moments of Cheers", long métrage d'animation 3D japonais réalisé par Popurika et Ohajiki, deux artistes indés et membres du collecif Hurray! jusque là surtout connu pour des clips (souvent en 3D assez arty, comme Moonlight co-réalisé par Popurika, que j'avais relayé il y a 5 ans).
Le film est coproduit avec 100studio, et le scénario est signé Jukki Hanada (connu lui pour de précédents animes également musicaux, comme "Sound! Euphonium" et "Love Live!").
Et le style graphique tape donc dans une sorte de cellshading, ou plutôt *illushading*, qui rappelle la mouvance de pas mal d'illustrateurs nippons actuels (sur Pixiv et ailleurs).
Sortie dans les salles japonaises le 14 juin.

Le chouette film d'animation The Bad Guys aura droit à une suite, pour l'instant simplement intitulée The Bad Guys 2, et dont la sortie est déjà calée au 1er août 2025.
Toujours réalisé par le français Pierre Périfel (à l'origine du projet), en co-réal ici avec JP Sans, qui était responsable de l'animation des personnages du premier film. Et le tout bien sûr toujours aussi produit par Dreamworks.

On est que lundi matin mais je me demande déjà si ce n'est pas la plus belle chose que je verrai cette semaine.
Première bande annonce pour Kimi no iro, le nouveau film de Naoko Yamada (K-ON!, Heike Story, Silent Voice), produit au studio Science Saru, chez qui elle semble maintenant avoir pris ses quartiers.
Le scénario est signé Reiko Yoshida, et le character designer / directeur d'animation est Takashi Kojima, sachant que l'illustrateur Daisuke Richard a bossé sur les concept designs.
Au cinéma au Japon le 30 août.
