Le long métrage d'animation letton/français/belge "Flow" de Gints Zilbalodis vient de dépasser les 300 000 entrées au cinéma en France, un peu plus de 2 semaines après sa sortie.
Une très bonne performance, pour ceux qui connaissent les box office habituels des long métrages d'animation français/européens dans les salles françaises (qui font souvent au mieux entre 200 000 et 300 000 entrées au final, pas plus).

J'ai juste eu envie de souhaiter un joyeux 5e anniversaire au long métrage d'animation "Klaus" de Sergio Pablos (et son studio SPA), sorti le 8 novembre 2019 sur Netflix (ce que même les twittos/bots marronniers semblent avoir oublié).
L'occasion de rappeler que ce beau long métrage mériterait une sortie physique (même si j'imagine bien que Netflix veille bien à ses exclus SVOD surtout pour des oeuvres qui peuvent re-marcher chaque noël), et aussi que le 2e film "Ember" que Pablos & SPA devaient produire pour la plateforme avait malheureusement été annulé.

Genndy Tartakovsky (Samurai Jack, Primal...) aime bien régulièrement partager de vieux souvenirs sur Instagram, et aujourd'hui il a notamment dévoilé un concept poster pour un projet avorté et méconnu de long métrage d'animation nommé "Creatures", qu'il avait développé il y a une vingtaine d'années.

L'image ne dévoile pas grand chose, mais ça reste quand même la première image de "Wasted Chef", prochain long métrage d'animation de Takayuki Hirao avec pas mal d'autres leads vus sur son précédent chouette film "Pompo : The Cinéphile" : Shingo Adachi au character design, Kenta Matsukuma aux musiques, le tout animé au Studio CLAP et produit par Kadokawa.

Un nouveau film live action japonais de "Godzilla" a été annoncé par Toho (sans surprise), et ce sera d'ailleurs à nouveau Takashi Yamazaki (Godzilla Minus One) qui réalisera, écrira, et supervisera des VFX.
En rappelant que Yamazaki vient à la fois du live, des VFX et de l'animation, puisqu'il avait signé notamment les films (3D) Lupin III The First, Dragon Quest Your Story, et Stand by Me Doraemon.

La société de production N Lite, spécialisée notamment dans des animations mettant en avant des origines africaines, et dont j'avais déjà parlé pour Mfinda, annonce deux nouveaux projets, cette fois en partenariat avec le studio japonais Gonzo, et le réalisateur Peter Ramsey (Spider-Verse), ici producteur.

Le tout évidemment, et comme le titre le suggère, avec une bonne dose de culture mexicaine dans le concept.

Le futur long métrage hybride (live/animation) "The Big War" de Mathieu Kassovitz, dont je vous parlais en avril dernier, dévoile son look via deux premiers posters teasers.
Adapté de la BD "La Bête est morte !" (publiée en 1944) par Calvo, Victor Dancette et Jacques Zimmermann, le film est doté d'un budget important (pour un film français) : 30 millions d'euros.
Co-écrit avec Caroline Thompson (Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward aux mains d'argent, The Addams Family), et co-produit par Aton Soumache (Renaissance, Mune, Le Petit Prince...), ce long métrage est annoncé pour une sortie vers noël 2026 (c'est un film pour "enfants de 7 à 77 ans").

Première bande-annonce pour "Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl", le nouveau long métrage stop motion des studios Aardman, réalisé par Nick Park et Merlin Crossingham.
Sortie prévue le 3 janvier sur Netflix.
Quel dommage que ça ne sorte pas en salles, évidemment, d'ailleurs pendant que les sites de niouzes relaient le trailer proposé par Netflix (en 1080p), je préfère embarquer le même mais proposé en 4K par Aardman sur son compte Youtube (et même avec plusieurs langues / doublages en options sur la même vidéo; oui, c'est possible sur Youtube maintenant).

Une suite au long métrage d'animation "The Wild Robot" vient d'être annoncée par Dreamworks, toujours avec le réalisateur Chris Sanders.
Ce qui n'est pas une surprise, le film ayant très bien démarré en salles, et le film étant surtout adapté d'un livre qui comporte plusieurs tomes.

Je ne m'attendais pas forcément à ce qu'un distributeur français tente une sortie salles pour le long métrage d'animation japonais de "Totto-Chan".
Donc bonne surprise : Eurozoom le proposera au ciné en France le 1er janvier 2025 (et pas juste 2 jours, à priori ;-) sous le titre "Totto-Chan, la petite fille à la fenêtre".

Comme je l'évoquais en début d'année, le studio Khara et Hideaki Anno sont en charge d'organiser au Japon de nombreuses choses dans le cadre de cet anniversaire : livres/artbooks, exposition itinérante, projections... tout cela a été détaillé aujourd'hui, mais le plus gros morceau avait été gardé pour ce jour anniversaire, avec l'annonce d'un nouveau long métrage d'animation de Yamato, produit par Khara et Anno.
Pas d'infos sur le staff (ni même sur le fait qu'Anno en soit le réalisateur), pas de date de sortie non plus, mais la production devrait commencer en 2025.
De toute façon, qu'Anno réalise ou pas, cela se rajoute à la longue liste *Shin* des projets/reboots/adaptations qu'il touche (et souvent impulse) d'une manière ou d'une autre (Shin Godzilla, Shin Ultraman, Shin Kamen Rider...).
Bref, en attendant d'en savoir plus sur ce *Shin Yamato*, je passe l'info (et je passe le temps en faisant des bêtises de type *Absolute Shinema* ;-p).
Ah et si vous vous demandez ce qu'est Yamato, c'est un anime de SF ultra populaire au Japon (mais méconnu - car peu diffusé - à l'étranger), créé principalement par le légendaire Leiji Matsumoto (qui en a fait aussi un manga), avec le producteur Yoshinobu Nishizaki, et qui a déjà connu nombre de déclinaisons et revival animés (jusqu'à il y a encore quelques années).

Bande annonce de "Slocum et moi", dans les salles françaises le 29 janvier 2025.
Il s'agit du 7ème long métrage d'animation réalisé par Jean-François Laguionie, sans aucun doute le plus ancien réalisateur français encore actif dans le domaine du long métrage d'animation.
D'ailleurs, la bande annonce est sortie hier 4 octobre, jour du 85ème anniversaire de Mr Laguionie (hasard ou pas, rien ne m'échappe en tous cas ;-).

Premières images - révélées à l'instant à la presse - du long métrage d'animation français "Marcel et Monsieur Pagnol" réalisé par Sylvain Chomet (Les Triplettes de Belleville, L'Illusionniste...).
Un biopic sur le fameux écrivain français, dont les plus attentifs avaient peut-être déjà pu dénicher depuis bien longtemps un pilote produit en 2021 (mais pas avec le même niveau de qualité ici suggéré par ces premiers screenshots).
