Notes :
- une des images provient d'une vente aux enchères d'un sac en papier avec ce dessin, où le vendeur s'était permis de mettre la chose à 1 million de yens... j'ai patiemment attendu la fin de cette vente pour évoquer/montrer quoi que ce soit, et éviter toute promotion indirecte. Enchère qui a d'ailleurs royalement fait choux blanc, ça fait plaisir en ces temps de spéculations maladives autour du travail de l'artiste.
- je vous glisse aussi le lien Google Street View indiquant que cette illustration est toujours visible aujourd'hui sur place.
- et sachez que ce dessin de Toriyama figure également sur la tombe du fondateur de ce magasin.

Et si le style de Miyazaki est évidemment intimement lié à la 2D, cela reste toujours agréable de voir des artistes spécialisés 3D s'essayer quand même à quelque chose, surtout quand ils visent certaines ambiances originelles, voir key arts emblématiques.

Plus de 45 artistes originaires de la ville de Lima ont ainsi représenté la saga Dragon Ball, suite à l'appel de l'artiste Péko et du collectif NFS Crew.
Un témoignage qui permets, encore une fois, de mesurer l'énorme impact qu'a eu l'oeuvre du mangaka en Amérique Latine. Cette performance street-art ayant aussi été relayée et intégrée dans l'évènement Feria del Juguete Perú (mais pas du tout par les médias étrangers, comme souvent).
Cet hommage se situe à cette adresse : Cuadra 9 de Paseo de la Republica, La Victoria, Lima (Station "Estadio Nacional del Metropolitano").
J'ai monté une petite vidéo pour en faire le relai, et j'en profite également pour signaler que je continue de mettre à jour mon sub-site Toriyama Tributes (avec plus d'une centaine de nouveaux hommages d'artistes ajoutés depuis lundi dernier).

[edit] et petite émotion aussi en ayant constaté que mon petit montage a été vu une centaine de millions de fois sur Twitter et ailleurs (TikTok et autres réseaux sociaux, articles de presse, et même médias péruviens). Cette petite vidéo (dont les images ne m'appartiennent pas évidemment) ayant aussi été largement repompée sans aucune mention des artistes, des sources vidéos ou de quoi que ce soit de journalistique/éthique (mais c'est pas grave, j'ai l'habitude de certains patterns, et c'est pratique pour se faire un avis rapide sur certaines *sources d'infos* sans doute en manque de clics, et d'autres choses ;-)

Et elle en fait actuellement utilisée pour la décoration au Ghibli Park.
Vu qu'il est probable que deux statuettes au moins aient été remises, l'une à Miyazaki, l'autre au producteur Suzuki, il faudra donc deviner lequel des deux n'était donc pas pressé de mettre ça dans son salon (j'ai cependant ma petite idée ;-).

Mutsumi Inomata est décédée le 10 mars dernier, sa disparition n'ayant été annoncée qu'aujourd'hui.
Talentueuse dessinatrice et animatrice, elle a grandement contribué à plusieurs de mes souvenirs des années 80/90, que ce soit dans des oeuvres animées, ou des artbooks d'illustrations.
Elle a notamment travaillé sur des productions comme "Brain Powered", "Yohko Leda", "Birth", "Windaria", "Future GPX Cyber Formula", "Acrobunch", la série des "Tales of...", ou encore pour de nombreuses illustrations des romans "The Weathering Continent", où le travail de la dessinatrice sera ensuite repris par un autre character-designer légendaire, Nobuteru Yuki (dont je glisse aussi un dessin ci-dessous, en mémoire à leur univers graphique conjoint sur cette oeuvre adaptée notamment en anime).
Née en 1960, Mme Inomata est donc partie bien trop tôt, à l'âge de 63 ans.

Belle coïncidence donc, surtout que Nausicaa, même sans être le premier film de Miyazaki, reste autant fondateur de sa carrière que précurseur de la création du Studio Ghibli (et que The Boy & The Heron sera peut-être le dernier long métrage du maître, qui sait... même s'il a envie de continuer, bien sûr).

Tamás Pázmány est un artiste hongrois qui à côté de ses boulots (pour Cartoon Saloon, Netflix ou encore Riot Games) réalise de temps en temps des animations persos / solos pour des projets et concepts de son cru.
J'avais découvert son travail via un fanart qu'il m'avait offert pour les 20 ans de Catsuka, puis il y a deux ans j'avais bien accroché à un teaser pour son projet "Va'za", uniquement dispo jusque là sur son compte Instagram, où aujourd'hui il a également mis en ligne une fausse pub pour un autre de ses concepts, "BugMan".
Du coup je l'ai recontacté pour lui demander si il pouvait mettre ces jolies vidéos sur Vimeo, pour mieux les apprécier et les partager en bonne qualité.

Et si je ne vais pas faire le récap des influences et clins d'oeil évident relatifs à Jackie Chan dans l'oeuvre de Toriyama (que vous connaissez sans doute toujours), j'avais inversement envie de pointer une petite séquence assez méconnue, issue du film "My Lucky Stars" (Le flic de Hong-Kong), où Jackie Chan est déguisé en Arale de Dr Slump le temps de quelques scènes.
Une petite vidéo nostalgique aussi pour moi car j'ai entre autres grandi avec le cinéma de Hong-Kong. Et surtout un exemple parmi d'autres des interactions plus ou moins visibles entre le travail des deux hommes, qui partageaient évidemment comme point commun artistique d'être des maîtres de l'action et de la comédie. En rappelant également que Toriyama était bien sûr inspiré par bien d'autres choses (et aussi d'autres aspects de la culture chinoise, comme l'épopée Journey to The West, à l'évidence).

L'auteur de Dragon Ball et Docteur Slump notamment a succombé le 1er mars dernier à un hématome sous-dural aigu, son décès n'ayant été annoncé que plusieurs jours après, comme souvent au Japon par respect premier pour le deuil de la famille et des proches.
Il me paraît vain d'essayer de vous rappeler qui il était, vous le connaissez sans doute toutes et tous, et beaucoup d'entre vous avez probablement grandi avec certaines de ses oeuvres. Un artiste accompli, aussi talentueux dessinateur de personnages (et autres mechas / architectures) que roi de la comédie alliée souvent avec beaucoup d'aventures, d'action, et d'émotions.
Je suis d'autant plus attristé par sa disparition que cette fin d'année marquera le 40e anniversaire de Dragon Ball, et qu'en amont de cet événement j'avais recommencé à regarder la série animée de Dragon Ball avec mon fils il y a quelques jours, fin février.
Mes pensées et mes larmes vont à la famille et aux proches de l'auteur, ainsi qu'à toutes les générations d'enfants qu'il aura accompagné avec son travail.
