En mémoire d'Osamu Kobayashi (Beck, Paradise Kiss), disparu il y a tout juste 1 an, son compte Twitter officiel relaie aujourd'hui une nouvelle preview vidéo de son ultime projet (inachevé) de série Dronko Rondo, adapté du roman "Doron Korondo" de Yusuke Kitano.
Cette nouvelle preview (une sorte d'animatique) a été produite par les amis de Kobayashi, et notamment Koji Morimoto (en co-réal), qui souhaitent poursuivre le projet (les sociétés AsuraFilm et Gatoon sont également créditées).
Je vous mets également en dessous la précédente preview vidéo du projet (avec sous titres anglais) réalisée par Kobayashi lui même en 2019.

Le fameux studio japonais WIT (qui vient de terminer Ranking of Kings) dévoile sa nouvelle série Vampire in the Garden qui sortira en exclu sur Netflix dans le monde le 16 mai.
Réalisée par Ryoutarou Makihara, cette série se paye le légendaire Tetsuya Nishio (Jin Roh, Naruto, Ninku, Sky Crawlers) en character-designer et directeur d'animation.
The fateful meeting of a human and the vampire queen may change the world.
One cold winter, humanity lost its battle with the vampires, and with it, most of where they called home.
A small population of survivors created a wall of light in a small town to protect them and give them a place to live in peace.
The protagonist, Momo, lives a repressed life but still wishes to coexist with the enemy, the vampires. Fine, the vampire queen, once loved humans and disappeared from the battlefield. As war rages through the humans’ town, the two have a fateful encounter.
Once upon a time, humans and vampires lived in harmony in a place called Paradise. This is the story of a young girl and a vampire on a journey to find Paradise.

Ce n'est pas tous les jours qu'une série TV fait le choix de l'Uncanny Valley pour son générique, du coup je pointe avec plaisir l'opening conçu et animé par l'artiste allemand Extraweg (de son vrai nom Oliver Latta) pour Severance, show américain créé par Dan Erickson avec notamment Ben Stiller en co-réal et producteur, et dont la diffusion vient de démarrer sur Apple TV+.

Le Japon va célébrer cette année les 100 ans de la naissance de Shigeru Mizuki, fameux mangaka (disparu en 2015) spécialisé notamment dans les yokai, et auteur (entre autres) du célèbre Gegege No Kitaro.
A cette occasion 2 animes ont été annoncés : un long-métrage nommé Kitaro Birth: The Mystery of Gegege par Toei Animation (qui sortira l'an prochain), et une série animée adaptée d'un autre manga de l'auteur, Akuma Kun (qui sera diffusée mondialement sur Netflix en 2023 également).

Il y a tout juste un an je vous faisais découvrir les boulots persos de l'animateur japonais Kazunoko, via notamment son clip "Michinoku-Toge".
Et bien il a depuis continué à développer l'univers de ce clip, qu'il décline désormais sous forme de web-série toujours entièrement produite par lui tout seul :-]

Il y a environ un an j'étais intrigué à l'annonce d'une série d'animation nommée Slippin' Jimmy, spin-off de l'excellente série live Better Call Saul, elle même dérivée de Breaking Bad.
Le premier trailer a bien calmé mes attentes. Il s'agira donc d'une série pour les petits (diffusée par AMC), avec une direction artistique de niveau totalement random.

Le reboot inattendu du jour est celui du manga "Bastard!!" de Kazushi Hagiwara qui va avoir droit à un nouvel anime sur Netflix produit par le studio Liden Films, intitulé BASTARD!! Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy.
Niveau staff : Takaharu Ozaki à la réalisation, Yosuke Kuroda au scénario, Sayaka Ono au character design, le tout produit par Warner Bros, pour une sortie prévue cette année.

Le duo de vétérans Junji Nishimura (Ranma 1/2, Urusei Yatsura: Beautiful Dreamer) et Mamoru Oshii (Ghost In The Shell) se sont récemment remis à bosser ensemble sur l'anime "Vlad Love", et ils viennent d'annoncer un nouveau projet de série animée nommée "Hikari no Ou", basé sur les romans de Rieko Hinata illustrés par Akihiro Yamada.
Nishimura sera encore une fois à la réal, avec Oshii au scénario.
