Le 1er épisode de Yuki 7 est en ligne !
Pour rappel, il s'agit d'une mini série de 3 épisodes autoproduite par le studio américain Chromosphere et diffusée gratuitement sur Youtube.
Produite par Elizabeth Ito (City of Ghosts, Adventure Time) & Karen Dufilho (Epic Games, Google, Pixar), cette série est basée sur le personnage créé dans les années 2000 par Kevin Dart (qui avait déjà donné lieu à des trailers et artbooks).
Et comme souvent avec les prods Chromosphere, la direction artistique est au top, avec plein de matières et d'effets rarement vus appliqués à de la 3D.

HBO Max a passé commande de Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake, qui comme vous vous en doutez est donc une nouvelle série dérivée de l'univers d'Adventure Time.
Le showrunner sera Adam Muto, qui avait déjà travaillé sur la série originelle ainsi que les spéciaux "Distant Lands".

La semaine dernière le géant chinois Tencent a tenu une conférence annonçant ses nouvelles productions locales en matière d'animation, et deux projets de séries ont retenu mon attention :
- Blades of the Guardians (Biao Ren), série adaptée de la BD chinoise de Xu Xian Zhe, animée par le studio Colored-Pencil Animation Design.
- Wu Chengen's Demon Recording (Wu Chengen's Ji Yao Lu), série réinterprétant le légendaire roman chinois "Journey to the West" de Wu Chengen, co produit avec Penguin Films et Bukong Culture.

Nouvelle preview (et chanson de l'opening) d'une des séries japonaises que j'attends le plus cette année : Osama Ranking (voir précédente news) par le studio WIT (Attack on Titan, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress) d'après le manga de Sosuke Toka.

Voici un reboot discret mais qui n'aura pas manqué de taper dans mon oeil avisé : le studio américain Chromosphere va diffuser cet été 3 épisodes de Yuki 7, une mini série qu'ils ont autoproduit avec Elizabeth Ito (City of Ghosts, Adventure Time) & Karen Dufilho (Epic Games, Google, Pixar).
Et les plus anciens d'entre vous se souviendront donc qu'il y a 12 ans je vous parlais déjà de ce personnage de Yuki 7 créé par Kevin Dart (avant qu'il monte le studio Chromosphere), décliné à l'époque sous forme de deux trailers ainsi que deux artbooks (que je possède).
Ils font donc revivre aujourd'hui ce personnage fictif de film d'action des années 60, avec le style si singulier de ce studio, toujours très arty et graphique, que ce soit en 2D ou en 3D (sans oublier le compositing toujours très poussé (coucou Stéphane)).
Le premier épisode sera diffusé le 26 août sur Youtube.

Youpi, le studio Science Saru va produire Tatami Time Machine Blues, série animée adaptée du roman de Tomihiko Morimi qui est une séquelle à "Tatami Galaxy".
Cette fois ça ne sera pas Masaaki Yuasa qui réalisera, mais Shingo Natsume, qui est aussi très bon puisqu'on lui doit les séries "One Punch Man" et "Sonny Boy" notamment. Et bien sûr Yusuke Nakamura assurera encore une fois le character design.
