La chaîne japonaise NHK a annoncé avoir commandé un anime spécial basé sur le manga "Cocoon" de Machiko Kyo, produit par l'école Sasayuri, sous la direction d'Hitomi Tateno, ancienne animatrice du studio Ghibli.
Sortie prévue en 2025, pour marquer le 80e anniversaire de la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale.

Les plus anciens d'entre vous se souviendront peut-être de Scarygirl, jeu vidéo que j'avais relayé en 2009, autour du personnage et de l'univers créés par Nathan Jurevicius (et qu'il décline aussi depuis plus de 20 ans en comics, toys, etc).
Et bien un long métrage d'animation de Scarygirl sortira cette année, en provenance d'Australie, et réalisé par Ricard Cussó & Tania Vincent au studio Cosmic Dino.
Je vous en avais d'ailleurs déjà touché un mot il y a quelques années aussi au détour de cette news, à l'époque où le projet s'appellait encore "Arkie".

Bonne nouvelle pour le projet de long métrage d'animation Arco porté par Ugo Bienvenu et son studio Remembers : il fait partie des 3 lauréats de l'appel à projets de films de genre du CNC.
Récompensés il y a quelques jours et annoncés aujourd'hui, chacun des projets lauréats recevra une aide de 500 000 euros pour la production.
Et ce n'est pas tous les jours qu'un film d'animation fait partie des gagnants de cet appel à projets (qui en outre n'existe que depuis quelques années).

Bonne nouvelle : le long métrage d'animation chinois The Legend of Hei (2019) sorti un peu partout dans le monde (sauf en France) avec succès aura droit à une suite, toujours en film, baptisé pour l'instant simplement Legend of Hei 2, et toujours réalisé par MTJJ.
La production démarre cette année, après avoir tout récemment reçu les greenlight nécessaires.

Le long métrage live Shin Kamen Rider réalisé par Hideaki Anno (Evangelion, Shin Godzilla, Shin Ultraman...) sortira dans le monde entier (200 pays) le 21 juillet sur Amazon Prime Video.
L'annonce a été faite aujourd'hui sur le fameux site japonais Eiga, avant d'être supprimée (un coup de Shocker ? ;-) puis finalement officialisée par le site du film lui-même.

Voici la première bande annonce de Linda veut du poulet ! (Chicken for Linda!), qui a donc remporté le grand prix du Festival d'Annecy.
Une récompense méritée pour ce merveilleux film d'animation de Chiara Malta & Sébastien Laudenbach, à qui j'avais adressé mon pressenti quelques heures avant la cérémonie, en leur prédisant/souhaitant le meilleur.
L'occasion de pointer une autre bonne nouvelle pour mes nombreux followers américains : le film sortira aux USA via GKIDS.
Et en attendant, si vous ne l'avez pas déjà vu, je vous recommande également le précédent film de Sébastien Laudenbach, réalisé et animé en solo : La Jeune fille sans mains.

Je le disais déjà il y a quelques semaines, et cela se confirme de plus en plus, l'animation d'horreur est à la mode.
En témoigne ce nouveau projet "A Banquet for Hungry Ghosts", une anthologie de 10 courts métrages d'animation horrifiques produit par Robot Playground Media (RPM) et des studios du monde entier.
Ce projet est basé sur le livre de Ying Chang Compestine, racontant des histoires de fantômes.
Les studios pour l'instant annoncés sont Igloo Studio (Thaïlande), Studio Climb (Malaisie), Something Big (France), Disnosc (France), Werlen Meyer (France), Xanthus Animation (Taïwan), ainsi que RPM eux-mêmes qui produiront 2 courts, dont le 1er / pilote (coproduit avec Mediacorp, qui est pour l'instant le seul court actuellement en production).

Lors de sa masterclass au Festival d'Annecy 2023, le réalisateur Jorge R. Gutiérrez a annoncé travailler sur une nouvelle série animée pour Netflix.
Le titre et les détails ne sont pas encore connus, mais le cinéaste a précisé que ce projet s'inscrit dans l'univers mythologique mésoaméricain qu'il a déjà mis en image dans sa précédente série "Maya and the Three" et son film "The Book of Life".
Sachant que ce projet s'inscrit aussi dans un deal à long terme que le réalisateur a signé avec Netflix, via sa société de production Mexopolis. Et qu'il développe également / actuellement en parallèle un autre projet de film avec eux, nommé "I, Chihuahua!".
