L'occasion d'en faire un petit GIF où j'ai essayé tant bien que mal de stabiliser l'image (j'aime bien bricoler des vidéos et des GIFS sans forcément promouvoir mes bidouilles, ce qui en outre et ensuite me permets de me moquer tout aussi discrètement que sûrement de certains repompages sauvages de mes mêmes bidouilles ;-p).

Il s'agit ici d'un *remaster* de la série animée "Kunimatsu-sama no Otoridai", en vente SVOD sur Amazon Prime Video Japan.
Une honte à tous les niveaux, d'une part au niveau qualité bien sûr, et d'autre part car mentionner l'utilisation de l'AI est je le rappelle un enjeu éthique majeur et mondial aujourd'hui, pour tout contenu ne serai-ce que montré (sans être forcément commercialisé) aux gens.
Et en rappellant aussi (coucou Dragon Ball chez AB) que même un upscale AI moins dégueulasse (mais qui fera toujours des erreurs aberrantes et contre nature) ne doit pas remplacer une vraie restauration/remasterisation à partir des sources originelles, comme cela a toujours été fait auparavant.
Mais nul doute que certains ayant droits et éditeurs ont peut-être trouvé avec l'AI un nouveau moyen de repousser de vraies remasterisations à plus tard, et se faire ainsi plus d'argent entre temps avec d'autres éditions "HD".

厳密な3-2プルダウンになってない古いテレシネを恐らく単純処理で逆テレシネしてしまっているのでインターレースの縞が取り切れておらず、斜め線が破綻している状態でAIアプコンをかけたため見るも無惨な事に。これは公式のアプコンとしては過去一に酷い例かも。 pic.twitter.com/FJW54BWAYC

「AIリマスター」とかいかにも凄そうな言葉で飾っときゃ手抜きでも感心されるだろう、といったような安上がりの代替手段として今後AI技術が濫用されてフィルムの再スキャンがされないようになってしまうなら害でしかないし、そういう業界全体のモラルを一段下げるようなことはやってほしくないですね。

Par contre il n'y a pas de sous-titres anglais. Les Oscars ayant sans l'ombre d'un doute les moyens de payer une traduction, à voir donc quand cet oubli malheureux sera rectifié.
[edit 31 janvier] ils ont finalement corrigé leur erreur et ajouté des sous titres (avec pas moins de 8 langues : anglais, français, allemand, coréen, espagnol, italien, portugais, polonais).

S'il est évident qu'il est toujours intéressant de faire intervenir des artistes concernés par des oeuvres sur les restaurations et remasterisations de ces dernières, il est tout autant intéressant de les écouter parler de ce travail, qui sur ce film a beaucoup consisté sur les couleurs, afin qu'elles soient le plus fidèles possibles aux tons d'origines.
Comme par exemple la chevelure de Cendrillon, qui n'a jamais été d'un blond pétant, malgré certaines éditions précédentes du film ou des marketeux s'étaient permis de saturer/dénaturer les couleurs pour que l'heroine ait une couleur de cheveux moins sale.

Et notamment à Go Nagai (le papa de Goldorak), dont le musée "Go Nagai Wonderland" a brûlé hier dans un incendie faisant suite à ces événements.
Ce lieu était situé à Wajima, ville natale de Go Nagai (qui est de son côté sain et sauf, à Tokyo).

Et comme cette année est celle du Dragon, je partage un souvenir datant d'il y a tout juste 10 ans, et qui m'avait tapé dans l'oeil à l'époque : une création de type paper art par les belges de Ink Studio (qui n'existe plus) nommée Paper Dragon (toujours visible via Behance).
