Note : My first contact with the Satoshi Kon's work dates back to 10 years. I was not really addicted to Japanese animation, and one evening I discovered Perfect Blue on the TV channel Arte. This film has left me with an unforgettable impression, a real sucker punch to the stomach ... I remember having trouble sleeping during that night, mulling over the elements of the film in order to try to understand how the story ended! Afterwards, during my animation studies, I kept track of his career. His works, among many other films and series in Japan, marked me, so much so that when I got the opportunity of working at a studio in Tokyo, I didn't hesitate a single second. I stayed there since. Somehow, my daily life at the moment certainly derives a little bit from this encounter with the work of Satoshi Kon, 10 years ago ... I could met the master once, during an advanced showing of Paprika in Paris in October 2006. Like many fans of his work around the world, his death has grieved me deeply. Sadly, I think that his talent will be sorely missed in the years to come, in a landscape of Japanese animation that has already become quite gloomy recently.
