Nouvelle bande annonce pour le long métrage d'animation "All You Need Is Kill" réalisé par Kenichiro Akimoto (Fortune Favors Lady Nikuko) au Studio 4°C.
Le film a enfin une date de sortie annoncée pour le Japon : le 9 janvier 2026 (sachant qu'il tourne déjà depuis quelques mois dans pas mal de festivals, dont Annecy où j'ai pu le voir, et apprécier un savant mélange 2D/3D opéré sur cette prod).
Je rappelle qu'il s'agit d'une (enième) adaptation du light novel d'Hiroshi Sakurazaka, qui a déjà été décliné en long métrage live action aux USA ("Edge of Tomorrow"), et en manga au Japon ("Moriarty the Patriot").
Je vous glisse aussi plus bas un nouveau key visual que j'ai reçu par mail de Warner avec des credits++ (dont Yukinori Nakamura en assistant réalisateur, Izumi Murakami en character designer, Tomonari Nakajima & Hisato Tokumaru en directeurs d'anims 2D, Takanori Nakashima en directeur d'anim 3D, IZMOJUKI au mecha design, et Tomotaka Kubo en directeur artistique).

Nyan2020 est un artiste chinois basé au Japon, qui fait pas mal de choses NSFW, mais aussi SFW, comme par exemple de temps en temps de jolies animations.
Pas mal de gens avaient relayé cette anim qu'il avait posté en début d'année sur X/Twitter, mais comme personne à l'étranger n'a pointé d'autres animations qu'il a publié il y a déjà un mois sur son compte Weibo, je me charge donc de les mettre en avant hors muraille (et mon petit doigt me dit que peu de gens savent que cet artiste est chinois).

Le compte Youtube officiel de l'éditeur Shout! Studios vient de mettre en ligne le documentaire "The World of the Dark Crystal", gratuitement et en HD.
Originellement diffusé en janvier 1983 sur la chaîne PBS, ce docu de près d'1 heure avait été proposé en bonus sur certaines éditions DVD & Blu-ray du film culte de Jim Henson & Frank Oz.
L'occasion de se replonger dans cette incroyable production, et voir ses puppet masters à l'oeuvre.
Et comme il n'existe pas de trailer pour ce documentaire, comme d'habitude pour mes réseaux, j'ai monté mon propre petit CatsuKut vidéo.

Il y aura également une conférence avec l'équipe du film le 18 octobre, en présence des réalisateurs Chris Appelhans & Maggie Kang, des production designers Helen Chen & Dave Bleich, et du directeur d'animation Joshua Beveridge.

Vu que l'annonce semble être passée un peu inaperçue (surtout à l'étranger), je relaie cette bonne nouvelle : Netflix s'associe avec le réalisateur Guillermo del Toro et l'école des Gobelins pour monter un studio d'animation spécialisé stop-motion à Paris.
Un lieu hybride, dédié à la fois à la formation mais aussi à la production. Co-fondé par Del Toro, ce hub créatif sera situé dans l'enceinte même du campus des Gobelins.
Le communiqué que Netflix m'a envoyé aujourd'hui par mail :
PARIS, France – October 10, 2025 – Netflix, GOBELINS Paris and legendary storyteller Guillermo del Toro have joined forces to launch a groundbreaking stop-motion studio that will shape the storytellers of tomorrow and propel the art form into the future.
Conceived by Academy Award® winner Guillermo del Toro, this visionary partnership blends world-class artistry, educational excellence and Netflix’s unwavering passion for entertainment without borders. For the next generation of animation artists, this initiative offers an invitation to learn, create and dream bigger than ever before.
Located within the renowned GOBELINS Paris campus, the new studio is co-funded by Guillermo del Toro and Netflix, is much more than a simple training centre; it will be a living laboratory of experimentation and research. Nouveau teaser pour "A New Dawn" ("Une Aube Nouvelle"), film d'animation franco-japonais qui était censé sotir cette année, mais dont la sortie avait été repoussée à l'an prochain.
Il s'agit du premier long métrage de Yoshitoshi Shinomiya, jusque là spécialisé notamment dans les films de commandes, et certaines directions artistiques (il est notamment un collaborateur régulier de Makoto Shinkai).
Produit par Asmik Ace (Japon) et Miyu (France), le film est désormais attendu le 6 mars 2026 au cinéma au Japon.

Une exposition consacrée au studio LAIKA ouvre ses portes dans quelques jours en France au Musée Cinéma et Miniature (Lyon), présentant plus de 700 éléments de productions issus des films stop-motion du studio tels que Coraline, ParaNorman, Boxtrolls, Kubo et Missing Link.
Et si je dis que ça ouvre dans "quelques jours", c'est car on peut lire sur l'affiche à partir du 13 octobre, alors qu'ailleurs on peut lire 11 (et maintenant 12) octobre.
En tous cas, l'important est de parler de cette expo, baptisée "LAIKA : Image par Image", pour l'instant très peu médiatisée.
L'occasion aussi de vous encourager à visiter ce musée assez méconnu, qui à la base regorge de props de films, et dans lequel je m'étais déjà baladé il y a quelques années (photos souvenirs plus bas).

Juste pour le fun du hasard du calendrier, alors que je remettais en avant il y a quelques jours les OAV de "You're Under Arrest", il se trouve qu'aujourd'hui vient d'être annoncée la toute première édition HD de cet anime de 1994.
Le Blu-ray japonais est déjà en précommande sur Amazon JP (sortie fin janvier 2026).
Et les premières images de ce nouveau transfert telecinema HD sont flamboyantes.
